Football 101

College Football, Campus Life & American Culture

When: Saturday, September 24

Join the Colorado State University Alumni Association, Athletics Department, and Office of International Programs to experience a CSU football game! Learn about the sport of American football, CSU Football Traditions, and join fellow Ram fans to cheer Ram football onto victory!

The event is free to full-time, fee paying students. Scholars, guests, and family member tickets can be purchased for a discounted rate of $29 each.

Tentative Schedule

11:30-11:45am: Check in at Iris & Michael Smith Alumni Center.

11:45am: Program begins. Learn about the game, get photos with the Spirit Squad, and check out some football equipment.

1pm: Head into the stadium, get some food, and get ready to cheer on the Rams!

2pm: Game begins.

~5pm: Game ends.

In the past, this event has included the below activities. Football 101 will celebrate its 13th year of bringing international students into the heart of campus life and American culture through an inside look at American football.

Saturday Afternoon Activities

  • Join other international students and learn the basic rules of the game from the National Football League
  • Practice singing the CSU fight song
  • Pass around the football equipment used by Ram athletes.
  • Meet past CSU Football players (even one who played in the National Football League–NFL)!
  • Head in to the stadium for free food
  • Cheer on the Rams to victory!

International Programs, Athletics, and the Alumni Association all work together to make this a special weekend for international students that you won’t forget.
