Meet at 7:30am at International House September 20, return to International House at 5pm Sunday, September 21.
$75 cost includes 4 meals, snacks, lodging, transportation, and activities. Accommodations are in shared dorm-like rooms. You will share a room with approximately 5 other people (of the same gender).
Favorite activities include:
- Walking through the beautiful fall landscape of the Rocky Mountains
- Enjoying a campfire and trying a quintessential American camping treat–s’mores
- Participating in the low ropes course
- Spotting wild animals (moose, squirrels, and chipmunks among other possible animals)
- Viewing the clear sky and seeing the Milky Way and constellations
- Bonding with new friends from all over the world
Weekend in the Mountains is a unique program for international students and scholars that takes participants to the CSU Mountain Campus for a weekend of bonding and intercultural activities. Returning attendees and spouses of students or scholars are also welcome if space allows. Children are not allowed at this event.
Each fall, students and scholars from all over the world attend the retreat. Activities change each year, but they always focus on a few primary goals: Culture, Community, and Colorado. We hope you’ll develop tools to help your cultural transition to the US, while building relationships with new friends from all over the world in the beautiful mountains of Colorado.
Cost is $75 for students and scholars or $115 for spouses of students/scholars.
Cost includes 4 meals, snacks, lodging, transportation, and activities (Full cost of event is $160/person, the Office of International Programs pays the additional difference per person). Accommodations are in shared dorm-like rooms. Trip is non-refundable.

Frequently asked questions
Where will I sleep?
We usually have two dorms, one for men and for women. Both dorms have bunk beds, and access to shared restrooms in the hallways. The men’s dorm rooms usually have 4-5 bunk beds (sleeping 8-10 total) and the women’s dorm rooms have 2-3 bunk beds (sleeping 4-6 total).
What is provided?
Your cost includes the following:
- Transportation to and from the CSU Mountain Campus
- 1 night lodging in dorms
- 4 meals (lunch and dinner Saturday, breakfast and lunch Sunday) and snacks
- Activities for the weekend
- Towel and washcloth
- Bed linens, pillow, blanket
Will my dietary restriction be accomodated?
Yes! The Mountain Campus has vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and can accommodate other dietary restrictions. Let us know as soon as possible if you have any special needs.
Can I bring my child(ren)?
No. Unfortunately, this event is not able to accommodate children.
