CSU is very excited to work with a number of excellent education abroad partner organizations. These organizations allow us to offer a wider range of programs which include unique locations, a wide range of course offerings and a high level of support to students throughout their entire education abroad experience. Below, you can find information about each Affiliate Partner, a link to each partner’s website, and information about grants and scholarships offered through each organization.

American Institute for Foreign Studies (AIFS)
AIFS was founded in 1964 and since then, over 1.6 million students have participated in our educational and cultural exchange programs. For more than 50 years, AIFS has been at the forefront of international education and study abroad, with a commitment to high academic standards, health and safety practices, and a dedication to supporting students in order to maximize their time abroad. AIFS Abroad offers study, internship, and faculty-led program options to over 20 different countries across the world.
All CSU students participating in AIFS programs receive a $400 discount for semester programs and a $200 discount for summer programs. AIFS also offers grants for students receiving veterans benefits and scholarship matches for Gilman, Boren and Fund for Education Abroad recipients.
Academic Programs International (API)
API's mission is to create better global citizens through international experiential learning. API programs are developed to be transformative, career-boosting experiences that are accessible to as many participants as possible.
API offers scholarships through the Common Scholarship Application. API also offers a scholarship match for Gilman recipients.
CEA CAPA Education Abroad
With over 75 combined years of experience delivering impactful study and intern abroad programming, CEA CAPA partners with hundreds of institutions and hosts more than 7K students annually. Headquartered in Phoenix, with an office in Boston, CEA CAPA sends students to 22 locations across 13 countries.
All CSU students participating in CEA CAPA programs receive a $500 discount for semester programs and a $250 discount for summer programs. CEA CAPA also offers scholarships through the Common Scholarship Application.
Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE)
For 75 years, CIEE has had a single mission: to help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge, and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world by bringing the world together through the most meaningful exchange programs available. CIEE sends more than 10,000 students abroad per year.
CIEE awards more than $13 million in grants and scholarships annually through the CIEE Scholarship Application, including grants for Pell Grant and Gilman recipients, as well as merit and special interest scholarships.
DIS - Study Abroad in Scandinavia
DIS is a non-profit study abroad foundation established in Denmark in 1959, with locations in Copenhagen and Stockholm. DIS provides semester, academic year, and summer programs taught in English, and offers high-impact learning experiences for upper-division undergraduate students from distinguished North American colleges and universities. The intellectually challenging curriculum is broad, cutting edge, and enriched by experiential learning components, including faculty-led study tours across Europe. It provides students with opportunities for meaningful cultural engagement and personal growth, which is further enriched through housing and extracurricular offerings.
All resident CSU students participating in DIS programs receive a $5,000 discount for semester programs and smaller discounts for summer programs. All CSU non-resident students receive a $3,000 discount for semester programs and a smaller discount for summer programs.
Institute for American Universities (IAU)
Founded in 1957, the Institute for American Universities has a mission to provide excellence in international education, inspire intercultural awareness, and prepare students for success in a global community through the study of European and Mediterranean history, languages, cultures, and contemporary issues. IAU offers semester, summer, academic year, and January term programs in France, Spain, Italy, and Morocco.
All CSU students participating in IAU programs receive a 22% discount on semester programs, a 15% discount on summer programs, and a 20% discount on winter break programs. IAU also provides grants for Pell Grant recipients.
International Studies Abroad (ISA)
ISA specializes in Europe, Latin America, and Africa, with strong programs in Spain, Italy, Greece, Morocco, and South Africa. Both WorldStrides programs - ISA and TEAN - provide high-quality, supportive programs with excellent academics, cultural excursions, and student care. Our offerings include short-term, semester-long, internships, service learning, and EuroScholars undergraduate research programs. Scholarships are available to make our programs accessible to all students.
ISA provides a variety of scholarships and grants through the Common Scholarship Application.
SAI Programs
At SAI we are proud to provide superior academic, living, social and cultural experiences that allow students to enjoy their time abroad, while nurturing their talents and challenging their minds. Our programs are located in Italy, France, and Spain and SAI students experience a blended educational and cultural environment that stresses academic integrity, high impact learning, leadership development and global awareness. The result is uniquely enhanced knowledge and skills for students preparing to enter the working world, pursuing graduate school, or seeking professional development.

Semester at Sea (SAS)
Semester at Sea is a unique study abroad program that takes students to 10 or more countries on three continents each fall and spring semester. Students from nearly every major see, experience and engage with the world while earning 12-15 Colorado State University credits. (CSU is the academic partner of Semester at Sea.)
CSU students are eligible for special grants and scholarships through Semester at Sea. Please see the Semester at Sea CSU Scholarships page for more information. Semester at Sea also provides grant matches for Pell Grant recipients.
School for Field Studies (SFS)
SFS creates transformative study abroad experiences through field-based learning and research. Programs explore the complex environmental problems faced by local communities and inspire students to become the next generation of environmental leaders for a sustainable future. Students will develop practical skills through hands-on, experiential learning, while exploring some of the most biodiverse and iconic ecosystems in the world. Each cohort leaves behind meaningful research for future students to build upon, contributing to the SFS legacy of scientific knowledge and impactful change.

School for International Training (SIT)
SIT Study Abroad offers a variety of semester and summer programs that span all seven continents. Since 1932, our programs’ unique qualities—including exceptional locations, independent research, cultural immersion, and deep local networks—make our programs an ideal choice for an extraordinary, transformative study abroad experience.
SIT offers scholarships through the Common Scholarship Application. Additional scholarships are available through the SIT website.
The Education Abroad Network (TEAN)
TEAN specializes in the South Pacific (Australia, China, Fiji, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam). Both WorldStrides programs - ISA and TEAN - provide high-quality, supportive programs with excellent academics, cultural excursions, and student care. Our offerings include short-term, semester-long, internships, service learning, and EuroScholars undergraduate research programs. Scholarships are available to make our programs accessible to all students.
TEAN provides a variety of scholarships and grants through the Common Scholarship Application.
University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC)
USAC is a nonprofit dedicated to providing affordable and academic study abroad programs in unique locations. USAC offers over 50 programs in 25+ countries for all majors with terms ranging from 3-weeks to an academic year. Internships, volunteering, and other experiential learning opportunities are available along with field trips, tours, and more. USAC also awards more than one million dollars annually in scholarships and discounts.
