Fulbright is the U.S. government’s flagship program of international educational and cultural exchange. It offers passionate and accomplished students and scholars in more than 160 countries the opportunity to study, teach, conduct research, exchange ideas, and contribute to mutual understanding.

U.S. Scholar Program
The Fulbright Scholars programs is administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) with funding from the U.S. government and in cooperation with foreign governments. CIES has placed close to 50,000 scholars in over 140 countries for teaching, research and short term projects. Visit the CIES website for a complete listing of Fulbright opportunities available to faculty and professionals.
The Office of International Programs can facilitate application review and answer questions about the Fulbright program. Completed applications will be accepted directly through CIES.

NOTE: These programs are for those who have U.S. citizenship at the time of application. Permanent Resident status is not sufficient. Foreign Fulbright applicants must apply through the Fulbright Commission or Embassy of their country of passport.

Advisors are able to help clarify initial ideas and provide ongoing feedback on your proposal and writing throughout the application process. Your application will be reviewed and evaluated at CSU before it is forwarded to the national Fulbright office. We recommend that you begin preparing AT LEAST 3 months prior to the CSU application deadline. See CSU’s Office for Scholarship and Fellowship Advising for more information on Fulbright and other scholarships for graduate and undergraduate students.
