Program Specific Scholarships

Many international education organizations, including CSU Affiliates, offer scholarships specifically for students participating in their programs. Application for these scholarships is made directly through the International Education Organization.

American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS)

AIFS annually awards more than $600,000 in scholarships to deserving students. Funds are available for both summer and semester programs.

Academic Programs International (API)

API awards approximately $400,000 in scholarship money annually, in amounts ranging from $250-$1,000 per student.

CEA

CEA offers competitive scholarship opportunities available to all CEA Global Education students.

CIEE

Each year, CIEE awards over $1 million in scholarships to students who plan to study overseas on our programs. This financial aid can be applied toward, or even defray, program fees and travel costs.

CIEE’s Global Access Initiative (GAIN)

One million dollars of scholarship funds are available to help students overcome the main barriers to study abroad, namely, challenges of cost and curriculum requirements. GAIN will expand the opportunities for students from all backgrounds and all majors to participate in study abroad programs.

Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS)

DIS awards scholarship funds for students who otherwise could not afford to study in Denmark. Four types of scholarships are offered, all awarded on the basis of financial need. Amounts range from $250 to $5,000.

International Studies Abroad (ISA)

ISA awards $600,000 in scholarships each year to students who are participating in ISA’s programs.

School for Field Studies

The School for Field Studies (SFS) awards over $300,000 in need-based scholarships each year with roughly one third of SFS students receiving some type of aid.

School for International Training (SIT)

Each year, SIT awards approximately $750,000 in scholarships and grants to SIT Study Abroad students. More than 80% of students who complete the scholarship application process receive an SIT scholarship or grant.

Semester at Sea

Students may apply for financial assistance from the Institute for Shipboard Education(ISE) in addition to federal aid programs and other sources. ISE awards $4 million in financial aid annually. In-state students should apply through CSU for the SAS need and merit applications.

SAI Programs 

SAI is pleased to offer scholarships to deserving students each academic year. These scholarships are open to all SAI participants who meet the eligibility requirements.
