This year’s fun run/walk will again be held in partnership with CSU’s Indian Students Association to coincide with the annual Hindu celebration of Holi, which honors Colors, Love, and Spring!
All proceeds from the event will benefit the international enrollment scholarship funds to help students achieve their goal of studying at Colorado State University.
Participants will receive a race T-shirt, race-friendly snacks and beverages, and color to join in on the festivities. Get ready to get colorful for a good cause!
Join us to celebrate the colorful and festive Spring holiday of Holi! The CSU Indian Students Association, along with the Office of International Programs, are excited to host another edition of the International Color Run 5K. Once again, all proceeds will go toward international enrollment scholarships, allowing us to celebrate and amplify the rich cultures present at CSU.
Starting and ending at Laurel Hall. Participants will head West on the Oval and exit on Isotope Drive.
From there the event follows the traditional Homecoming 5k route until you get back to Laurel Hall at which point you will need to run around the East, North, and West side of the building to complete your 5k.
There will be designated color powder checkpoints throughout the route, including one at the start/finish line outside of Laurel Hall! Runners can opt out of the color splash at any time — just indicate to the volunteers that you don’t wish to have any color, or make a detour around the designated color zone.
Safety Info
The color powder we use is non-toxic, environmentally safe, and made with high-quality, FD&C and D&C approved materials.
The colors are made up of corn starch and FD&C and D&C colors. Color safety information: Approved for use in foods, cosmetics, and/or drugs. These products are not considered hazardous, 29 CFR 1910-1200.
Participants are encouraged to wear sunglasses since this can reduce the chances of having color powder in the eyes. If color powder does get in the eyes, rinse with water to clear any powders that are causing irritation.
Cleaning Tips
It’s easier to remove color powder while it’s still dry. To remove, brush off your skin/clothing as best you can. After that, use soap and water for the skin and shampoo for the hair.
Color powder is not intended to stain or dye clothing. For best results removing the color, brush off as much of the powder as you can before it gets wet. Then, wash the clothes on a regular wash cycle or hand wash the affected area until the color comes out. Please note: the color is not intended to stain, but when mixed with water or sweat, the dyes can stain—especially on white clothing.
