A delegation from Anhui Agricultural University (AAU) led by President CHENG Beijiu visited Colorado State University on October 2-4. They also brought representatives from other 10 agricultural universities from China to attend “University-based Extension: 2nd International Conference on Agricultural Extension and Technology Transfer” at CSU.
安徽农业大学程备久校长一行于10月2-3日访问科罗拉多州立大学。一同前来的还有10所农业大学的教授，他们是来参加“基于大学的推广：第二届农业推广与技术转移国际会议”。
AAU established partnerships with CSU in 2011 and has collaborations in many areas, including “Dural Degree Program”, “Dedicated 2+2 Program in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability”, “Agricultural Extension and Economic Development Joint Research Institute”, and “Joint Laboratory for Tea and Human Health”.
安徽农业大学从2011年就已经和科罗拉多州立大学建立了合作关系，并且在很多领域都有了非常紧密成功的合作，其中包括“双学位项目、生态系统科学与可持续专项2+2本科项目、农业拓展与经济发展联合研究院和茶与人类健康联合实验室”。
During their visit, AAU delegation met with Rick Miranda, Provost and Executive Vice President; Jim Cooney, Vice Provost for International Affairs; Wei Gao, Associate Provost for China Programs; Jodie Hanzlik, Dean of the Graduate School; John Moore, Professor and Head in Ecosystem Science and sustainability and some AAU students studying at CSU now. It was a productive visit. Based on the previous achievements, plans for further collaborations for the next two years were signed by Rick Miranda, Jim Cooney and Beijiu Cheng at the closing reception on October 3.
在访问期间，安徽农业大学代表团会见了科罗拉多州立大学的教务长执行副校长Rick Miranda; 国际事务副校长Jim Cooney; 中国事务副校长高炜; 研究生院院长Jodie Hanzlik; 生态系统科学与可持续系主任John Moore以及来自安徽农业大学，正在科罗拉多州立大学念书的学生。此次访问非常有成效。双方回顾了已有的合作，就未来两年的深化合作达成共识，并于10月3日晚的闭幕式上，由程备久校长, Rick Miranda, Jim Cooney和高炜副校长签署了会议纪要。
Areas of further collaborations
- The two universities will continue to work on the 2+2 program with Ecosystem Science and Sustainability. AAU agrees to give this program special support. Students at AAU will continue improve their English skills through special programs at AAU.
- Based on the 2+2 undergraduate transfer student program with Ecosystem Science and Sustainability, AAU would like to add additional dedicated 2+2 programs at the undergraduate level in the future. AAU is open to this option and also suggests pursuing a 2+1 Master’s Program at the graduate level. Other areas for discussion might also include computer science, economics and agriculture.
- The two universities will continue to develop faculty exchange activities. Based on joint research activities, AAU would like to send 3-5 young faculty annually to CSU as visiting scholars, in addition to professors with joint research projects. CSU will facilitate hosting these faculty members in relevant departments; likewise, AAU will host CSU faculty who visit AAU.
- The two universities will promote communication between their respective administrative staffs. AAU will select administrators such as Deans and/or Directors to visit CSU in 2017, and CSU will help make arrangements, for training courses, AAU agrees to pay for the costs.
未来深入合作的领域
1.双方将继续推进专项2+2环境生态科学项目。安徽农业大学将会给这个项目充分的支持；同时会帮助学生提高英语水平。
2.除了现有的专项2+2本科环境生态科学项目，安徽农业大学希望能开展其他专业的专项项目，如计算机科学、经济管理以及农业方面的专业。同时建议发展2+1硕士生联合培养项目。
3.双方推进教师之间的深入交流。安徽农业大学围绕两校重点工作每年选派3-5名青年教师作为访问学者赴科罗拉多州立大学访问，选派相关教授赴科罗拉多州立大学进行合作交流，科罗拉多州立大学协助做好相关安排。科罗拉多州立大学选派相关教授来安徽农业大学进行访问交流，安徽农业大学提供相应支持；两校定期举办双边和多边国际学术会议，促进教授之间的交流与合作；
4.双方推进管理人员之间的深入交流。安徽农业大学选派中层管理人员（职能部门负责人、院系负责人）赴科罗拉多州立大学进行工作对接和培训进修，科罗拉多州立大学协助安排工作对接，帮助落实培训任务，安徽农业大学支付培训相关费用；科罗拉多州立大学可探索选派相关人员来安徽农业大学进行工作对接，安徽农业大学提供相应支持。
