M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Minor in Computer Information Systems

Why did you decide to study at CSU?

Three reasons – the campus, the program, and the diversity. I love the location and the overall campus, and with more than 300 days of sunny weather and beautiful snowy weather, I get the best of both worlds. CSU provides one of the best programs in the Electrical and Computer Engineering field of study, especially in research. The facility is great and lectures are recorded and made available online, which helps in studying. CSU has students from all over the world. After spending almost 2 years here, I have made friends from China, Brazil, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nepal, Japan, France, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, Columbia, Paraguay, Mexico, etc. (and of course Americans and fellow Indians, obviously!!).

Tell us more about your freelance photography.

If I wasn’t an engineer, I would have definitely been a photographer. Since I’ve been at CSU, I have photographed a few events with the Office of International Programs (including World Unity, Weekend in Mountains, and Day in the Mountains) and India Night with the Indian Student Association. I love photography. It helps me explore my creative side and being a photographer lets me make new and diverse friends.

What are your career goals?

My career goal is to get involved with an established company and continue to learn and take more responsibilities and increase my technical knowledge. After gaining the additional experience, I would definitely like to move on from the technical position of management and leadership responsibilities.

What do you want people to know about your home country?

Our National Language is not INDIAN. Hindi and English are the official languages of India. The government of India also recognizes 17 other languages. Apart from these languages there are around 1,652 spoken in India. We indeed have a very diverse culture, and we are truly one of the countries who actually prove “Unity in Diversity”.

What has been your favorite memory at CSU so far?

I’ll never forget the day (August 14th!) I was hired as the Graduate Teaching Assistant in my department.
