Ph.D. program in the Department of Clinical Sciences

Why did you decide to study at CSU?

I selected my Ph.D. program at CSU because of its outstanding faculty and research facilities, emphasis on a collaborative learning environment, flexibility in curriculum, study abroad opportunity and a global perspective to various key issues. I love small animal surgical research studies and I strongly knew that I could improve my capabilities and knowledge if I had the chance to enroll, especially in the CSU remarkable programs with all of the special interests and topics that most interest me. I am convinced that CSU will help bring out the best in me as I can possibly be. This will not only blossom myself but also my future students and my country’s veterinary society. I hope to become a part of this dynamic culture, which will give me a leading edge to work effectively in my profession.

What academic accomplishment are you most proud of?

I earned the “Gold Medal Award” from the King of Thailand for the academic performance of earning consecutively the first rank on my DVM degree. The year after, I was honored to receive the King’s Scholarship from the Anandamahidol Foundation to pursue my Ph.D. at CSU.

What are your career goals?

My career goal is to become an academic professor with expertise in small animal minimal invasive soft tissue surgery, especially in thoracic surgery and cardiovascular diseases.

What advice would you give to other students who are considering CSU?

If you’re looking for an academic place to start your future, this is the place to be. It is packed with many facilities and is a warm atmosphere to be in. As a foreign student, being away from your home country and out of your area of comfort are a great deal in life. CSU provides many helpful sources for us to make us feel humble and less far away from home. There are lots of things to do and get new experiences around here, when I say a lot I really mean A LOT!!!! Be open-minded, get involved, meet new friends and have a fantastic time in CSU.

What do you want people to know about your home country?

Thailand is a country about twice the size of Colorado. It is mainly tropical and the weather there is usually hot and humid. Since we are a tropical country, we have a high diversity of animals, plants and almost everything. What I love most about my country is that you’ll never feel lonely there. The people are mostly nice and warmhearted. The beaches and islands in the south of Thailand are so stunning. The ocean is turquoise-colored and clear, you could see the fishes swimming beneath your boat. Speaking of Thai food could make my mouth water. We are a small country but pretty obsessed with food. We have many types of spices, fruits, vegetables and meat. There are also roadside carts almost everywhere, where you can find a place to eat almost 24 hours. If you love to travel and learn new culture, don’t forget to put Thailand on your bucket list.
