Why did you choose to study at CSU?

“I chose to study at CSU in order to register for Business Administration. When I came to CSU I knew I could enhance my concentration and better focus on my major.”

What is the most important lesson you have learned during your study abroad experience?

“When I first came here, I was trying to get out of my comfort zone because I wanted to improve my English and gain experience. If I stayed in my comfort zone and just talked with people from my own country, then I wouldn’t have a chance to improve my English. I learned to be more active, ask my American friends questions, be friendly and make some friends.”

What do you like to do in your free time outside of class?

“I normally go to the Rec Center and play basketball with friends. I also try to find delicious food because I love to eat. What I really like about Colorado is they have bacon jerky. I recommend it to people to try that, too.”

What surprised you the most about CSU?

“The most surprising thing about CSU was the stadium. When I first came here, I saw a really big stage and I didn’t know if it was a building or something, but it was a big stadium. I was so impressed and when the football games are held there, I went and there were so many people cheering for their team. I was excited to cheer with them.”

Would you recommend PLACE [formerly called INTO CSU]?

“I recommend it for all the international students who first start attending a university in the U.S. Going outside of your country feels so weird and strange, but INTO CSU [now called PLACE] programs can help you with studies and registration.”
