What have you learned from living with students from all over the world in Global Village?

I’ve learned a lot about different cultural values. Students that I’ve met from Asia share how much they value hard work and family. In our KEY class [Global Village Seminar Course], we talked about values we all had and I learned how some international students seem to value family more than students do here in the United States. In community hours, we’ve also talked about what we want to do after we graduate. I’ve heard how many international students want to go home and make money for their families or start their own businesses which is really cool.

What would you like other students to know about your experience in Global Village?

Global Village is really fun. You can learn more about other cultures and have different experiences. You network with a diverse group of people so it’s like you’ve got someone in every continent that you’ve connected with!
