Student Programming Coordinator
Position Description
The Student Programming Coordinator position provides support to the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) Programming Team. The Programming Team brainstorms, plans and executes the upcoming year’s programming goals (large-scale annual programs; smaller weekly programs; and a range of one-time activities and events, covering social, academic, and professional topics).
Duties will be split among the team, but will include: taking ownership of some of the ISSS programs and seeing logistics through from start to finish; helping manage existing programs; developing ideas for events; attending committee meetings; providing support to ISSS staff; creating and managing event sign-up forms; helping with set-up and clean-up at events; and other programming duties as needed.
Additional duties may include (but are not limited to): developing activities for intercultural trainings; writing newsletters; possibly driving students to events; reserving rooms, food, and equipment; and other programming duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Work-study award for 2021-2022 academic year.
- Ability to work with minimal direction and produce quality results in an efficient manner.
- Passion for CSU international community and a willingness to foster the engagement of that community.
- Detail-oriented with good written communication and organizational skills.
- Sensitivity to and acceptance of personal and cultural differences in people and ability to relate well with people of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Must be able to work frequent evening and weekend hours, especially during orientation (week before classes in spring and fall) and World Unity Fair (April 2).
Publicity, Social Media, and Website Coordinator
Position Description
The Publicity, Social Media, and Website Coordinator position provides support to the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) Programming Team. The Programming Team brainstorms, plans and executes the upcoming year’s programming goals (large-scale annual programs; smaller weekly programs; and a range of one-time activities and events, covering social, academic, and professional topics).
This position will serve as the publicity, graphic arts, and website assistant. Primary duties will be assisting with print and web communications, social media, and other promotional outreach efforts, as well as web design and maintenance. Specific duties may include (but are not limited to): promoting events through web, social media, and print outlets; updating print materials; maintaining and updating website; assisting in planning and promotion of special events; writing newsletters; assisting with miscellaneous tasks and events as necessary.
Additional duties may include: developing ideas for events; developing activities for intercultural trainings; creating and managing event sign-up forms; set-up and clean-up at events; possibly driving students to events; reserving rooms, food, and equipment; and other programming duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Work-study award for 2021-2022 academic year.
- Excellent writing/grammar/communication skills.
- Ability to write in a range of styles for varying target demographics.
- Web design experience, preferably with knowledge of WordPress or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and strategies.
- Ability to work with minimal direction and produce quality results in an efficient manner.
- Passion for the Colorado State international community and a willingness to foster the engagement of that community through use of social media platforms.
- Willingness to perform as part of a team while possessing a strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy, collaboration and high-quality results.
- Sensitivity to and acceptance of personal and cultural differences in people and ability to relate well with people of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Must be able to work at least 10 hours a week.
- Must be able to work evening and weekend hours, especially during Orientation (week before classes) and World Unity Fair (April).
