Hosting a FAC is easy!   Pick a date and we’ll walk you through every step.

Friday Afternoon Clubs (FACs) are dynamic evenings of culture, food, and community. International student organizations get the opportunity to showcase their culture in whatever way they wish — through dance, song, food, crafts, holiday celebrations, demonstrations, or the classic power-point presentation.

The impact is big — the CSU campus will come away with a better appreciation of your home culture — and the investment is small: 2 weeks of planning and no cost to your club.

  • 2 weeks before: gather 5 to 15 helpers from your student group to help the night of the event–for set up, clean up, and presentations
  • 1 week before: one person will complete a 60 minute walk-through of the space with interactive instructions from the ISSS Program Coordinator
  • 3 hours before: start setting up (we provide tables, chairs, projector & screen, plates, utensils, etc)
  • 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: share your culture with the attendees of FAC!
  • 7:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (or when finished): tear down chairs, wash dishes, take out trash & say goodnight!

Past themes: Kuwaiti Night, India Night, Iranian New Year, Indonesia Night, Pakistani Night, German Night, Turkish Night, etc.
