This summer, the Confucius Institute at Colorado State University was once again invited to participate in the annual Lagoon Summer Concert Series at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. The series takes place on Wednesdays during the summer months, and CICSU attended two concerts on June 21 and July 12, with more than 2,500 participants in attendance. CICSU teachers planned a ring ross game to attract a large number of participants. By tossing the rings onto different colored pillars, participants won Chinese fans, Confucius shopping bags, small kites, Chinese knots, Chinese shuttlecocks and other Chinese gifts.

Rich cultural activities paired with the promotion of the fall schedule of CICSU’s Chinese language and culture courses greatly stimulated the public’s enthusiasm to understand and learn about Chinese culture and language. After quick lesson, people were already greeting each other with the Chinese “ni hao” (hello).

The Confucius Institute at Colorado State University was honored to participate in this event, to bring joy to the public, but also to promote Chinese courses and activities and to enhance local visibility of the Confucius Institute and bring a love of Chinese culture to more Americans.
