On September 23rd, in celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, the team at the Confucius Institute at CSU set up a tent on the plaza of the Lory Student Center for a Moon Cake Giveaway. CICSU shared 500 moon cakes with students, faculty, and friends who were passing by. Moon cakes are a traditional snack that are enjoyed during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Usually, flat and round in shape, moon cakes are made with a thin soft crust and filled with sweet red bean, mung bean, or lotus nut paste. Traditionally, moon cakes would have an egg yolk in the center, when cut in half it resembles the full moon.
