Thao Phuong Nguyen

Thao Nguyen is from Hanoi, Vietnam, and after finishing her junior year at Foreign Trade University, Vietnam, where she studied Economics and International Business, Thao transferred to CSU and earned her bachelor degree in Economics with a minor in Business Administration. During her senior year at CSU, she developed a strong interest in Finance and wanted to learn more about how financial agents and institutions interact with each other on a global scale, so she decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Finance at CSU.

Currently, Thao is working as a Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) for the Department of Finance and Real Estate, where she actively assists faculty members with extensive research on the U.S. and global stock markets. Her responsibilities as a GSA also include helping professors with their undergraduate classes and administrative work. Thao is also an active member of the CSU Finance Club.

Outside of school and work, Thao loves to devote her time giving back to the community. She was a Young Learner Teaching Assistant and a part-time Librarian at British Council Vietnam. In her free time, she also enjoys drawing, singing, cooking, and binge-watching animated films and series.
