Sirikul Soontararak

I am the second year Ph.D. student in the Clinical Sciences Department at CSU. I come from Bangkok, Thailand. I graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Science in Animal Welfare. Last year, I got a scholarship from my country to study for a Ph.D. in an extraordinary field at CSU, which will be useful and contribute to the development research in my homeland.

I am interested in the stem cell treatment for chronic gastrointestinal disease as well as the dysbiosis of gut microbiome.  My research is focused on the use of Mesenchymal stem cells for treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) using mouse models and a clinical trial in dogs.  Also, its effect toward the gut microbiome will be investigated. I am strongly hopeful that the knowledge I obtain during the Ph.D. study will support not only my country, but also the international science society.
