Francisca Pretorius holds an LL.B (Bachelor of Laws) from the University of Pretoria and an LL.M in International Trade Law from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. She is an admitted attorney in South Africa and was employed as a senior associate in a corporate law firm in Johannesburg. She has recently passed the Colorado Bar Exam and will be licensed to practice law in Colorado in 2017. Francisca is also an adjunct lecturer at Strathmore University’s law school in Nairobi, Kenya, where she teaches Foundations of Roman Law and Legal Practice Management. For the past 8 years, she has been part of Brightest Young Minds, a South African non-profit organization which identifies, connects, and mobilizes change-makers in Africa, first as a delegate, thereafter as part of the organizing committee, and most recently as board member. In her spare time, she loves playing violin (she has played for the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, and the German Internationale Junge Orkesterakademie), going to concerts, travelling, and hiking. Through the Global, Social, and Sustainable Enterprise MBA, Francisca hopes to connect her for-profit and non-profit experience to find impactful solutions through social enterprise.
